Parking: Av Santa Fe 2743 offers a discount of 40% for our clients. It is located one and a half blocks from Tandoor, between Anchorena and Laprida, on the right side if you are driving from the center towards Palermo. Please ask the waiter for the parking validation seal when you ask for the check. Tandoor is not like most Indian restaurants (and not just because it happens to be located in Argentina!). We take very seriously our mission of providing a range of dishes from India that represent the tremendous diversity that exists in Indian cuisine. Some of the dishes on our menu cannot be found at Indian restaurants anywhere, not even in India, as they are made only in the homes of Indian families within their communities. We think this makes us unique, and all the more authentic for it, as we truly represent the depth and breadth of what all the regions and communities of India have to offer! We make all our dishes "from scratch" without shortcuts and without any artificial colours or flavours. All of our spices are blended in-house and we use only basmati rice from India. More about Tandoor and our mission (link coming soon) ... Tandoor is located in a beautiful historical 100-year-old French style building, with high ceilings and wonderful architectural details, which we complement with warm colours and an elegant interior with subtle and refined touches of Indian decor. We also take seriously the concept of "fine dining." Our wine glasses are Italian crystal, our napkins are pure cotton, our copper silverware has been hand-carried from India, our dinner plates are brought to the table heated, our wines are stored and served at the recommended temperatures, we hire only career professionals as waitstaff, we change our menus seasonally, our subtle decor incorporates hand-embroidered silk fabric hand-carried from India .... We could go on, but we'd rather have you discover all our special touches yourself, so browse through the rest of our web site or, better yet, come join us for dinner! See why some of our international clients who have eaten at dozens of Indian restaurants all over the world say that the best Indian food they have ever had has been at Tandoor, or why we have clients who have been coming to dine with us thrice a week every week since they discovered us. Indian food has roots that date back to an over- 3000-year-old tradition traceable back to the Ayurveda, an ancient Sanskrit text. Over the intervening millennia, it has, of course, evolved dramatically as a result of trade, conquests, immigrations and emigrations, and increased culinary interchange between the radically different styles of cooking in different parts of India. When we share this long and complex tradition with the people of Argentina (where India as a country we find is tremendously respected, but where the cuisine is virtually unknown), and others from around the world, we recognize our role as more than just restaurateurs. We are also cultural ambassadors, with a responsibility to bring the finest and yet authentic representation of this culinary culture halfway across the world.
